ZAMBIAN BREWERIES PLC AND ITS UNION SIGN COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT FOR 2025

LUSAKA, ZAMBIA – In a demonstration of its commitment to being a world-class employer by continuously focusing on employee welfare, Zambian Breweries signed its annual Collective Bargaining Agreement for 2025
The signing, which represents a crucial milestone for the company and its workforce, underscores the brewing giant’s dedication to cultivating a collaborative environment that benefits employees, shareholders, and the broader Zambian community.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Zambian Breweries Corporate Affairs and Legal Director, Tawanda Hojane, highlighted the significance of this annual engagement: “This agreement is a testament to our strong partnership with the Union. It’s about creating a future with more cheers; working together to secure better conditions for our people and a thriving business for the long haul. When our employees are happy and motivated, the business flourishes, and that benefits everyone, from our shareholders to the communities we operate in.”
Mr Hojane emphasised that the relationship between the union and the company is built on mutual respect and shared goals: “At the end of the day, what we’re trying to achieve is a common purpose. We are all one big team. If it’s good for the unionised members of staff, then it’s good for the business, and vice versa.”
The union representatives echoed this sentiment, applauding the collaborative approach that guided negotiations and reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the company’s objectives. The successful conclusion of the agreement guarantees a unified front for Zambian Breweries Plc, strengthening its ability to deliver value to its customers, sustain business operations, and meet shareholder expectations.
