PROFLIGHT LAUNCHES DIRECT
LIVINGSTONE-CAPE TOWN FLIGHTS
LUSAKA, ZAMBIA – Proflight Zambia has announced the launch of direct flights between Livingstone and Cape Town from December 1st, 2024, offering travellers a seamless connection between two of Southern Africa’s prominent tourism destinations.
Flights between Lusaka and Cape Town will now route via Livingstone with a 30-minute technical stop in Livingstone – all passengers will remain on board during the stopover.
“The development responds to the growing demand for convenient travel options linking Cape Town with Livingstone, home to the iconic Mosi-oa-Tunya also known as Victoria Falls,” said Proflight Zambia Director of Flight Operations Captain Josias Walubita. “This service meets the needs of the Livingstone tourism market, boosting connectivity and making it easier to access neighbouring South Africa,” he added.
The new routing will provide the Livingstone/ Cape Town market with a direct service while simultaneously unlocking increased seat availability for the Lusaka/ Cape Town market. It is further expected to address challenges related to baggage limitations for passengers, allowing for a smoother, more efficient journey.
The Livingstone-Cape Town route will initially operate twice weekly, on Thursdays and Sundays. Flight P0 050 will depart Lusaka at 06:40 hrs and arrive in Cape Town at 11:10 hrs, with a 30-minute stopover in Livingstone. Travellers from Livingstone can join this direct service to Cape Town at 08:10 hrs, arriving at 11:10 hrs. On return, flight P0 051 departs Cape Town at 12:00 hrs, reaching Livingstone at 14:50 hrs, and continuing to Lusaka, arriving at 16:20 hrs. Passengers between Lusaka and Cape Town will remain onboard during the brief Livingstone stopover.
Additionally, Proflight has scheduled an extra Saturday flight for the holiday season, running from December 1st to January 5th.
The new Livingstone-Cape Town route will strengthen the airline’s regional presence and improve the travel experience by offering more seats and a smoother journey for travellers from Lusaka and Cape Town.
