First Quantum Minerals’ Nsanshi Art Studio celebrated the graduation of its second cohort of lapidary students, highlighting the transformative power of skills development championed through meaningful partnerships between the organisation and local community.
First Quantum Minerals has handed over the renovated Solwezi College of Nursing and Midwifery hostels and has also donated bunker beds and mattresses to Solwezi General Hospital. The facility was renovated at a total cost of K876,000. This includes 56 bunk beds and 112 mattresses.
A survey by the Extractive Industry Transparency Alliance (EITA) has commended First Quantum Mineral’s Kansanshi Foundation for the quality of its community engagement, particularly on its water quality projects.
In its drive to complement Government’s efforts in promoting sustainable livelihoods, First Quantum Minerals has enhanced its livelihoods development programmes through the introduction of secondary economic activities in its host communities in North-Western Province.
